Tegan Jeffrey-Rushton is a Sydney-based movement artist and choreographer whose practice is a tapestry of her multi-genre dance background, with a focus on athleticism, storytelling, and play. Through movement, she strives to make the invisible visible -thoughts, feelings, memories, and ideas - while exploring the balance between human/pedestrian movement and extreme physicality or abstraction.
Tegan recently directed and choreographed her work OVERTURE, which premiered to a sold-out season at Adelaide Fringe and was awarded “Best in Dance” for 2025, followed by a sold-out season in Sydney for the IDEA Festival 2025. As a performer, Tegan’s credits include Opera Australia’s Carmen on Cockatoo Island, Stephanie Lake Company’s COLOSSUS, XYZ by Holly Finch x Wellesley Auckland, and music videos with artists such as The Veronicas, Guy Sebastian, and Nick Broadhurst. She has also featured in commercial and campaign work for brands including Drew Barrymore x Wanderlust, Reebok, Pepsi, and Samsung.
Tegan has choreographed music videos and short films for L-Flora and the Zela Margossian Quintet x Nowness Asia, and worked as an assistant choreographer for Shannon Burns (Orlando, Belvoir St Theatre), Sarah Boulter (Dancing With The Stars, Australia), and Jillian Meyers (Arena Dance Convention). She has also participated as a guest artist for multiple seasons of Jillians program Q and A in Tokyo, which has greatly influenced her practice.
Driven by connection and collaboration, Tegan is committed to creating work that is accessible and engaging to people from all walks of life, while continually striving to expand and evolve her practice.

After finishing high school, she went on to complete a diploma in performing arts at “Dance World Studios” in Melbourne. Peta went on to tour with “The Rhythms of Ireland” around Australia and New Zealand straight after finishing her diploma, which led her to perform with “Dance of Desire” in China.
Peta then appeared on Ireland’s “RTE” TV program “Dance off” where she was chosen to perform as principal dancer and played the part of “Aisling” in the show “Noctu”, which then went on to perform in New York on Broadway, gaining 2 Drama Desk Award nominations. Peta then went on to perform in Riverdance between 2011 and 2015, travelling all over the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Europe, UK and China, as part of their 20th Anniversary tours.
